Basil and [coriander], two herbs that are quite possibly even better in combination than they are separately.
Deborah Madison, Local Flavors
Try it and see.
In other news, the Week of Matzah has begun. This year, I've somehow managed to convince Peter that Sephardic eatin' is the way to go. So though there will be no bread, no pasta, no hot cross buns in this partly Jewish home, there will be rice and lentils and beans.
Phew. Gonna buy me a chocolate egg, too.
Happy weekend, all.
I like basil and coriander together. They are my favourite herbs, so they usually are thrown in together because I have them to hand.

Basil and coriander--those are also beautiful words, aren't they? Appropriate for such delicious flavours.
Chocolate eggs are a must!

Hope you had/have a wonderful holiday, Lucy! Legumes and chocolate--sounds like a good one to me. :)

Oh I must try the two together.
I hope you can participate in my Passover Round-up. Lucy. Plenty of time left to do so. No rules, just send me a photo.
Happy holidays.

i am sure you can cope with all the dietary restrictions so long as chocolate is still on the menu :-)
although I would miss my hot cross buns

One day to go, people. I've never thought of myself as a 'bread person'. Clearly, I am.
Lori Lynn - aren't you lovely? I'd love to post about our Seder, but I'm shy. Thing is, it's not my party, so to speak, and I'm only just learning what it all means. I did make a mean Haroset (Iranian, with date syrup and finely diced walnuts), but when push came to shove, deleted the post. It just sounded wrong...next year, perhaps? X
