I've been jelling away myself lately, so I can relate to the preserving bit at least. I ate some blackberry and peach jam today. The peach really dominated and the blackberry flavour was lost. I was wondering if you noticed that when two fruits are combined. Shame really, as I wanted to taste the blackberry rather than the peach. It was still delicious though, so can't complain too much.

I have that book too! I found it at a library sale, and I love it. It is so dreamy.

Lynn

blackberry and apple jam sounds delicious!

Wendy

We call them brambles but the jam is just the same. My dad makes so much I just manage to run out when autumn and the berries return again. He says that's the way he plans it...

Jacqueline

Mmmmmmm, sounds like a relly nice jam. I am on my last jar of homemade, so it is time for me to make another batch. I do fancy this one :)

Ali

jam season. yes.
i do the same thing with my wild blackcaps and blackberries.
it's such a process of love.
